The acetabular labrum is a crucial component for the hip joint stability. Studies have demonstrated its role in maintaining intra-articular synovial fluid pressurization-creating negative intra-articular pressure. Additionally, the labrum enhances joint stability by increasing acetabular volume by 33%, deepening the socket, and improving resistance to lateral and vertical motion of the femoral head within the acetabulum.
