The reason Dr. Mark Adickes decided to pursue a career in medicine after leaving the NFL is to have the opportunity to help people recover from some of the same injuries he dealt with during his 10 year career as a professional athlete. He has the unique perspective of understanding medicine from the viewpoint of the elite athlete, the patient and the physician. After enduring several surgeries and struggling through months of rehab Dr. Adickes brings a rare skill set to his patient interactions.
His goal is to provide the active patient, whether a professional, competitive or recreational athlete, with the treatment required to return to the activity level they desire in a safe, timely and effective manner. A thorough sports medicine evaluation, including state of the art imaging techniques, will determine each patient’s diagnosis and a comprehensive treatment plan will be formulated. If necessary, patients will be offered cutting-edge, minimally invasive treatment strategies that allow for a rapid and full return to desired activities. Life is too short to spend time on the bench. It’s time to rid yourself of pain and return to the game.
